Getting Pregnant Poem - InVitro - God's Breath
by Ryan Centaur
(Gresham, Oregon, USA)
This poem titled, "God's Breath", is a getting pregnant poem conveying the reflections of complex emotions by a Mom who got pregnant through a successful In-Vitro Fertilisation.
We were worried-your Father and I,
What to tell the family?
"A child will be borne, of he and I"
No condemnation- delightful progeny.
We were worried-your Mother and I,
What to tell the friar?
"A child will be born, assembled by science."
Silly children, was there life there prior?
We were worried, your parents and I,
What to tell you when you've grown?
"You were born of three, dear child
It took three, instead of two."
We were worried, mankind of faith,
What to say of science?
"We used a Petrie dish to assemble the clay,
But it was God's breath that bid life's compliance."
